Concept:
This painting is an abstract rendition of the iconic Golden Dome of the Rock by Nadia Zeeshan. This historic site is revered by Muslims, Christians and Jews for more than a few reasons as this is where The Temple Mount once stood; the place Abraham took his Son for sacrifice as submission to God's will; the city where Jesus was born, preached Christianity and was crucified; where Mohammad ascended to the Heavens during the Journey of Isra' and Mi'raj (Arabic: الإسراء والمعراج).
There is something about this magnificent place that intertwines creed and the bonds of worship . A place where the physical realm has met the divine more than a few times as expressed in monotheistic traditions. This place represents unity between faiths, yet causes division.
In the painting , the iconic Dome shines in all its glory with a starry night in the background that exuberates the feeling of peace and timelessness.
